Habs News, Robinson, Gainey, Flyers and More

Larry Robinson - Buffalo Sabres v New Jersey Devils
Morning Hab fans!

Based on recent reports of Marc Bergevin approaching Rick Dudley and, potentially, Larry Robinson, it is clear the rookie GM is not afraid of surrounding himself with competent, accomplished individuals.

An executive with well over 20 years of managerial and coaching experience. Check.

A legendary NHL blueliner with Stanley Cups to his name both as a coach and player. Check.

Adding such individuals can be intimidating, especially when they are more experienced and decorated individuals than the boss himself. Decidedly, Bergevin is not flustered by that dynamic. He wants the best.

Both Dudley and Robinson would be great additions.
It does seem like Bergevin wants to assemble a strong team. I would think that Bergevin would let the new head coach pick his assistants though.
I would have no issue keeping the Randy's around as assistants. I think they inherited a mess and are deserving of staying on as long as the new coach agrees.
They coached many of these guys in Hamilton as well so they would be a real asset.
I liked the way they handled Subban, I think he may have finally turned the corner and now understands that he has to play and act like a number 1 D-man as that what is is on our roster.
